At 62 years old, Tom Cruise rappelled down from the top of the Stade de France, safely landing and greeting Olympians below.

The closing ceremony also featured an unexpected highlight: Simone Biles made a surprise appearance, participating in the ceremonial handover of the Olympic flag from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
